Senz Original Windproof Stick Umbrella

Anyone who has ever carried an umbrella in the rain understands the hassle of holding on for dear life as the winds attack the umbrella with all their might. The Senz windproof umbrella offers a solution to this irritating problem by providing an aerodynamic umbrella that was built to maintain stability in the wind. The unique shape of the umbrella distributes greater weight to the back to allow the umbrella to move forward with the wind without rocking back and forth or turning. This allows users to maintain their grip on the handle and maintain control of their umbrella in all but the windiest weather.

The dimensions of this design present the greatest challenge. The umbrella is about the size of a typically umbrella, measuring 35 inches wide and 36.5 inches in length. The protrusion at the back of the umbrella can cause the user to inadvertently hit people at he back of the umbrella. Reducing the length and width by up to 4 inches could minimize this problem while still allowing the umbrella to maintain the proportions that give it its stability.

The aesthetic characteristics of the umbrella are another concern. The odd shape of the umbrella provides an appearance of disproportion. The bright red color of the umbrella draws further attention to the lopsided proportion of the design. Neutral or dark colors should be selected instead of red as a way of minimizing the jagged, lopsided appearance of this product.
